Last updated 12 October 2026
We take your privacy seriously. This notice explains, in plain terms, how Seacrest Search Ltd uses your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Seacrest Search Ltd is a real estate recruitment agency, registered in England and Wales (company number 17467676), with its registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF. We are the data controller and are registered with the ICO (reference ZC257947).
What we collect
- Candidates: contact details, CV, work history, qualifications, salary expectations, references and right-to-work documents.
- Clients: business contact details, hiring requirements and our communications with you.
- Website visitors: IP address, device and browser data, and pages visited, via cookies.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health or ethnicity) unless it is needed for a lawful purpose, such as a reasonable adjustment for an interview. Criminal record checks are made only where a role legally requires them.
How and why we use it

| Managing placements, contracts and payments | Contract |
| Right-to-work and other legal checks | Legal obligation |
| Supporting clients and managing relationships | Legitimate interests; contract |
| Marketing and job alerts | Consent, or PECR “soft opt-in” rules |

Where we get your data
From you directly, from referees and clients, from background-check providers, and from public sources such as LinkedIn and job boards.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with prospective employers (for your applications), trusted service providers acting on our instructions (such as IT, CRM, email and background-check suppliers), professional advisers, and regulators or law enforcement where the law requires. Where data goes outside the UK, we use approved safeguards such as the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Inactive candidate records: 24 months after last contact.
- Placement and contract records: 6 years after the placement ends.
- Client records: length of relationship plus 6 years.
- Marketing opt-outs: kept so that we can honour them.
Automated decisions
We may use software to help match CVs to roles, but a member of our team reviews every decision. We make no solely automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Cookies
This website only uses essential cookies, which are needed for it to work securely and are always on. We would only use analytics or advertising cookies if you accepted them first. See our Cookie policy.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to our use of it, move it to another provider, and withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in any email. To make a request, contact us at info@seacrestsearch.com. We will normally reply within one month.
Keeping your data safe
We use access controls, encryption, secure systems and staff training to protect your data. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and tell you where required.
